Hello! I'm so glad that you're here.
Let me introduce myself for those of you that don't know me...My name is Jodi. I am a hair and makeup artist if you didn't catch that on my website-haha! I am a wife to my Prince Charming, a mommy to our two little princesses, and a crazy cat lady x3!
I literally eat, sleep and breathe all things hair and makeup.
So, lets give y'all a little background on how I got here...
I'd say I was in 6th grade when I knew that I wanted to work in the beauty industry. My grandma is a licensed cosmetologist to this day (you rock grandma!). I grew up in her little at home shop. I loved to watch her work. I would fight with my siblings over who got to sweep up all of the hair. I remember asking my grandma in 7th or 8th grade if she would put black box color on the underneath of my hair (who remembers this hot trend??) and she shut that down real quick. Thank you, Grandma for saving the integrity of my hair!
Throughout middle school and high school my mom would take me to the beauty school to get my hair done when I had a special event. This is when I knew that bridal and special events were my calling. These girls were like creative rockstars. Wearing all black, looking all fabulous, jamming to the salon tunes...it spoke to me. The freedom of making your own schedule, being creative and social was/is #GOALS. Pretty much everyone I could get my hands on at this point turned into my hair model.
After high school, I did the college thing for a while but I wasn't into it. It was then out of boredom that I started looking up auditions. I stumbled upon a Disney audition and it was fate. I got hired on to work for Disney. I even got to travel to Tokyo, Japan to work at the Disney Resort there.
It was after I came back from Japan that a mutual friend introduced me to my husband. We got married, had our two princesses and I was a stay at home mom which is what I had always dreamed of as a young girl. Well, the stay at home mom life got a little monotonous day in and day out. I knew I still had to go for my passion. Finally, the time came where my girls were old enough that I could go to Cosmetology school.
I attended Paul Mitchell the School in Temecula, CA. I went to night school for 16 months and the struggle of taking care of my family and going to school at night was very real. While there, I made the best of it. I was an honors student. I was on every team imaginable at the school and I took every hair project that came my way. I graduated in December of 2016. I got licensed in January of 2017 and Jodi Snowden Hair and Makeup began. I hit the ground running.
I already felt behind starting my career at almost 30 years old, but I know that my hustle will get me to be where I want to be. I'm only a little over a year into my professional career and I'd say I'm off to a pretty good start.
I found my salon home at La Mode Salon in Murrieta, CA. I love it there and you will too! You can book an appointment with me in the salon on my website (www.jodisnowden.com) on Sundays from 11am-5pm. I provide a wide range of services in the salon including haircuts, hair color, hair extensions, hair styling and makeup.
My true passions are hairstyling and makeup. I have had the honor of being a part of photoshoots, weddings, fashion shows and many more special events. (Contact me for availability for photo shoots and special events.)
I'm always continuing my education. I take classes whenever I can. Staying up-to-date on trends in this industry is so important to me. Plus, I am a bit of a nerd and enjoy learning new things.
In my free time, when I'm not working, which, let's be honest, isn't very often- haha...I love to spend time with my family, immediate and extended. Disneyland is my home away from home. We go quite often. I love to travel and go on new adventures. I'm an avid shopper. I love music and dancing, country is my favorite! I LIVE for the holidays. And I love a good excuse to get all dolled up and go out.
